Catholicism is honored and greatly differs from all Christian denominations in the doctrines of praying for the Holy Souls and pleading for Our Lady’s intercession on their behalf. Catholics know the gift of Our Lady who is most powerful ever Virgin Mother of God and we know the Mercy of Purgatory is genuine. We know the Hope there is in Eternal Life and we know that death of the body is not the end of our existence. The Catholic Doctrine of what happens after we die is a symphony of hope and triumph. This page offers some teachings, quotes and writings that helps present what the Catholic Church teaches on life after death. The more Catholics contemplate the mystery of death and resurrection the more we are going to understand the very purpose for which we are all made. To spend eternity in heaven with God is the purpose of creation and this is the real goal of our lives. So, just like Jesus, we have to live and die, to resurrect into eternal life. Once we know these truths, we would fear death less and make serious life choices with heaven in mind. The 2020 Our Lady of Guadalupe Torch in a Season of Remembrance calls us to know and think on these truths.

Despite this reality, many people spend their lives trying to ignore or avoid contemplating their own mortality. This film presents the reality of death and what will follow for every person. Powerful music, beautiful artwork and imagery are used throughout the film, and commentary is provided by four wonderful priests – 32min - Click on image below

The book of Revelation, with all of its apocalyptic imagery and focus on the end of time, has a great deal to teach us about liturgy and worship and how when we pray the liturgy we are the closest we will ever be, here on earth, to our loved ones who have passed away.
