Message from Jessica Donohue; TRED President
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I hope that your program is off to a wonderful start as we enter the 2023-2024 Religious Education year! As a PCL, you are a member of TRED, the Trenton Religious Education Directors organization, which exists for you, and to serve you, as a leader in this beautiful ministry. On behalf of the TRED Board, we look forward to working with and for you this year as together we answer the call to bring Christ to the children and families of our parishes...(Continue reading here)
EXECUTIVE BOARD
The TRED Executive Board is made up of the representatives from the five clusters. Each cluster chooses two members to serve as representatives on the TRED Executive Board. Representatives of the Department of Catechesis and the TRED Executive Board meet three to four times a year. The concerns, issues and suggestions from the clusters are shared with the Department of Catechesis by the representatives at these meetings. The Executive Board chooses a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasure. The President chairs the meeting.
The TRED Board exists so that you can have one less meeting on your calendar. We gather to share the concerns that rise up out of Cluster Meetings, to set priorities, and to build committees, activities, and initiatives to move forward the work of Catechesis!
CLUSTER MEETINGS
It is beneficial to gather with other PCLs to share ideas, best practices and prayer. Cluster meetings are sponsored by TRED. These meetings are held regularly during the year among five cluster groups across the diocese. The scheduled meetings and the location of these meeting are selected by each cluster. Different topics are discussed, practical ideas are shared, theologies are shared, and friendships are formed. Concerns, ideas, and suggestions are communicated to the leadership of TRED and to the Department of Catechesis through the cluster representatives.
TRED is a member driven professional organization. Membership is open to all who serve in a parish catechetical leadership position in Religious Education in the Diocese of Trenton. There is an annual membership fee to join TRED. This fee is normally paid by your parish. Access the dues form here.
