Partnership between the Diocese of Trenton & the Catechetical Institute Franciscan University’s “Franciscan at Home”
Partnering with the institute provides the entire diocese with a library of workshops (over 200 ministry formation workshops in both English & Spanish) to train and support key ministry personnel (professional and volunteer). There is currently NO COST to the parish.
The primary purpose of this partnership is to equip individuals involved in ministry grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and the riches of the Church's teaching and apply it to life experiences and the ministry’s that they serve. The Catechetical Institute has created online workshops, led by professors at the university and other experts in the field. These workshops are ideal for parish and Catholic school leaders, catechists and catholic schoolteachers, Adult Faith Formation, RCIA, and youth ministry teams, deacons, and anyone who desires ongoing formation and spiritual enrichment.
In person Group learning and/or online
Franciscan At home offers online workshops that can be completed at the learner’s pace and/or the ability to have in person faith formation groups when using online workshops. This platform gives us the ability to have both online and in-person groups.
Institutional Leaders
A leader at the parish will serve as the institutional leader, usually the PCL or a person that is designated by the Pastor. This person will have access to the learner’s progress through the tracks and workshops. The leaders can also decide who will mentor others in the parish.
Mentor
Mentors are recommended for all learners; mentors are from the parish. They can be parish leaders, RCIA coordinators, priests/deacons, or catechists that are identified by the pastor. Franciscan offers FREE training for mentors.
