“For it is in giving ... we receive” - St. Francis of Assisi
GIVING, from the Catholic perspective, is another word for LOVING. In that sense, we are called to be giving constantly in our lives as people of faith and people who believe in God… God who ISlove.
We are called to share our gifts and talents generously with others, those we know and those we don’t know; those who we think might need our help and those we might not even really want to help.
STEWARDSHIP: care of ourselves, our neighbor, our world
Balancing time to be able to be present to others is vital to the Community of Faith.
Jail and Prison Ministries, visiting the homebound, hospital chaplaincy, volunteering as a catechist in religious education, parish ministries (lecturing, singing, ushering, sacristan, altar serving, youth ministry, etc), and prayer chain/list
It's not "how much" we give, but that we give.
