We are pleased to offer you the convenience of a one-stop resource page designed for the unique needs of today’s Pre-Cana team couples.
In his Apostolic Exhortation, The Joy of Love, Pope Francis reminds us that “the complexity of today’s society and the challenges faced by the family require a greater effort on the part of the whole Christian community in preparing those who are about to be married… the timely preparation of engaged couples by the parish community should also assist them to recognize eventual problems and risks… they should be strongly encouraged to discuss what each expects from marriage, what they understand by love and commitment, what each wants from the other and what kind of life they would like to build together.”
This resource page is designed as a supplement to the Pre-Cana team manual, offering access to the full range of information and tools that Pre-Cana couples need so they can teach and witness to engaged couples the truth and beauty of lifelong sacramental marriage.
The first section is all about Pre-Cana ministry – tools for conducting effective Pre-Cana sessions. The second section is all about Catholic marriage – the doctrinal elements of sacramental marriage that all who serve our Catholic engaged and married couples need to know. We have offered you selected passages and paragraphs that are most pertinent, but we hope this will lead you to further study of these documents.
