Welcome to Natural Family Planning Awareness for Parishes!
The purpose of this web page is to provide the full range of resources for parishes to build awareness of Natural Family Planning (NFP) all year long and encourage engaged and married couples to learn and use one of the scientifically-based, ecologically-sound, and morally acceptable methods of family planning throughout their fertile years.
Celebrate National Natural Family Planning Awareness Week – July 21-27, 2024!
Each year the Church shows special appreciation for the gift of fertility through the annual celebration of Natural Family Planning Awareness Week (July 21 - 27, 2024). This year's theme for NFP Awareness Week is Marriage: One Flesh, Given and Received - Supporting God's gifts of love and life in marriage.
The information provided here will assist parishes to observe NFP Awareness Week in creative ways but more importantly to integrate key concepts of fertility appreciation and marital generosity into parish ministry efforts throughout the year, and equip priests, deacons and lay pastoral ministers to speak about NFP with conviction. With so many advances in the science and technology of NFP, and with a heightened concern about the side effects of contraceptive methods, couples are more open than ever to learn a natural method of family planning. The practice of NFP enables couples to live out their marriage vows with integrity – their promises of fidelity, permanence and openness to life.
The parish bulletin is a strong vehicle of communication from Church leaders to the parishioner. “Bulletin briefs” provide an effective way to raise awareness about the methods of Natural Family Planning and Catholic teaching which support their use in marriage, and can be used any time throughout the year, or perhaps in an “NFP” bulletin series.
This page is intended to be the one-stop shop for all kinds of NFP resources for parishes including articles, book, videos, brochures and web resources that will assist your parish staff and your parish community to embrace all that fertility awareness and appreciation can offer to Catholic families..
