Year of Youth Fest hosted in Manahawkin

The long-awaited, official launch to the Year of Youth is finally here! The Year of Youth Fest took place Sunday, Oct. 14 in St. Mary of the Pines Church, Manahawkin. Youth throughout the Diocese of Trenton brought friends and family members to the Mass and following festival.
 
This event took place from 3 – 7 p.m. and kicked-off with Mass that included an opening banner procession showcasing the participating parishes and ministries. The Mass was followed by food and outdoors games and events. In the evening, there was an artwork showcase and indoor talent competition that showcases the different skills and talents of youth from around the Diocese.
 
The Year of Youth, decreed in June by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., is sponsored by the Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. It encompasses multiple events through June 2019, that are aimed at inspiring young Catholics in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties to own their faith and act upon it.
