The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities publishes a respect life program each year to call attention to important human life issues. These materials are especially helpful for priests, parish groups, schools and parish religious education. The theme for this year’s program, Every Life is Worth Living, is especially timely in light of the push for legalizing assisted suicide in New Jersey, but is also applicable to the wide spectrum of life issues.
The program flyer and articles are available here and also online in either English or Spanish as well as in a bulletin insert format. New this year is a helpful model for individual reflection or small group discussion on the program’s article topics. This year’s Prayer & Program Guide (formerly called the Liturgy Guide) includes suggestions for a parish or school display, homily notes, intentions, a discussion guide for this year’s articles and resources for a pro-life novena. Visit www.usccb.org/respectlife to download these resources and view additional materials available in the Respect Life Program.
