High school choristers in the Diocese of Trenton are among those across the nation being invited to audition for the National Catholic Youth Choir’s 2019 choir camp and anniversary tour.
“Serve Your Neighbor: The Good Samaritan Tour” will mark the 20th anniversary of NCYC, a group attached to St. John’s Abbey and University in Collegeville, Minn., that is dedicated to “promoting faith and beautiful music in the lives of young singers.”
NCYC is seeking Catholic students who are currently enrolled in grades 8 through 12 in a private or public school to audition for the program that will run from July 6-14 on the Collegeville campus.

, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., has made funds available for two $250 scholarships that would help to defray from the registration fee.
Choristers may apply and audition by March 29, and will receive their acceptance by mid-April. To apply, vocal recordings must be submitted; a recommendation form submitted from a music teacher/choir director or person that can speak to the student’s work ethic and music background is also required.

The Diocese of Trenton invites Catholic faithful and all people of goodwill to attend the 20
th annual Mass and Celebration of Law Enforcement, also known as the
Blue Mass. The annual event will take place at 10:30 a.m., April 30 in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, 151 N. Warren St., Trenton
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. will serve as principal celebrant and homilist for the Mass.
Coordinated by a committee of law enforcement representatives and others, the diocesan-sponsored event is celebrated to offer thanks to God for the dedication and sacrifice made by men and women in law enforcement and to pray for their safety and well-being. The Mass will include participation by law enforcement representatives who will proclaim the Readings, participate in the Presentation of the Gifts and lead the congregation in song. Bagpipers, fife and drum legions, color guard members and others will also be featured. The Mass will be followed by a luncheon in the lower church hall.
A luncheon donation of $20 per person is requested; immediate families of law enforcement officers are included free of charge. Reservations are required by April 23.
