Faith-filled send-off to the Class of 2023 ∙ Diocesan director of advancement retires

June 22, 2023GRADUATION SEASON 2023 IN THE DIOCESE OF TRENTON occurred during May and June with diplomas being awarded to more than 1,200 Catholic high school seniors attending diocesan, parish and independent schools as well as some 919 eighth graders. Along with the celebrating and cheering by the graduates, their family members and school faculty members, members of the Class of 2023 were encouraged to take all that they gained in their Catholic school education, especially their faith in Jesus Christ, and use it to impact the world they are about to enter.

DURING A JUNE 22 LUNCHEON HOSTED IN THE DIOCESAN CHANCERY, LAWRENCEVILLE, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and Chancery staff bid farewell to Stephen J. Nicholl who retired after 12 years of service as diocesan director of development.
“Steve came to the Diocese at the right time,” Bishop O’Connell said of Nicholl.
“Thanks to his energy and enthusiasm, the Diocese launched its largest and most comprehensive capital campaign ever, ‘Faith to Move Mountains,’” the Bishop said. “He provided both the motivation and the inspiration to so many of our donors and pastors, leading the campaign to an unparalleled goal. His faith-filled approach to our Annual Catholic Appeal also yielded great success on behalf of diocesan ministries.”
