February 1, 2023Saint Catharine’s Church, in Holmdel, NJ is seeking a part-time Facilities Manager to maintain and oversee the buildings and property owned by the parish. This is a vibrant parish consisting of several buildings: a church, community center, parish office, pre-school, rectory, and convent. This individual will be responsible for:
- Supervising two full-time maintenance and grounds employees; may also supervise outside contractors and personally perform higher-level maintenance functions
- Overseeing the renovation, restoration and upkeep of the parish and school buildings and grounds
- Maintaining the mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems of the parish
- Ensuring that security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly
- Conducting preventive maintenance, safety, and energy conservation audits.
- Making sure that the parish is clean and maintained according to parish standards
- Working closely with the Pastor, bookkeeper, and financial committee to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner and within budgetary constraints
- Managing, reviewing and negotiating service contracts
This individual will work between 25-28 hours with an occasional Saturday or Sunday. We are seeking an individual with 5 – 10 years of experience in buildings and grounds maintenance work and supervision of employees. Some college is preferred but not required. Must have strong project management, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Good communication and technical skills are required.
