Director / Coordinator of Religious Education (DRE/CRE)- Camden Diocese

January 19, 2023St. Rose of Lima Parish, Haddon Heights, Camden Diocese The DRE/CRE manages the parish religious education program in accordance with the parish goals. The DRE/CRE must possess leadership, planning, administrative and technology skills. The DRE/CRE must have fluid proficiency with the various social media platforms. This person MUST be a team player.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Reports directly to the pastor
- Responsible for sacraments First Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation
- Coordinates programs, classes and activities for youth religious education
- Manages the budget for youth religious education
- Presents annual calendar of events for youth religious education
- Ensures all diocesan curriculum requirements are satisfied
- Compliant with all VIRTUS training, certifications and renewals of all people that come in contact with children
- Flexibility/availability with work schedule
- mandatory attendance for evening youth religious education classes (currently Mon. & Tues. evenings)
- available for weekend sacraments
- manage summer Vacation Bible School schedule
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with their parish / worships weekly
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Experience with working with children and parents
- Experience with working and management of catechists, in service training
- Able to maintain confidentiality regarding children and their families
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:- An undergraduate/graduate degree in theology or religious education
- Catechetical leadership certification
