DURING THE WEEK OF JUNE 3, San Alfonso Retreat House served as the site for two enjoyable yet meaningful events for Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M.
From June 4-6, Bishop O’Connell and members of his religious community, the Eastern Province of the Congregation of the Mission of St. Vincent de Paul, popularly known as the Vincentians, gathered in the oceanside facility in Long Branch for their Provincial Assembly.
“I am so pleased to welcome my Vincentian confreres to the Diocese of Trenton for their Assembly,” Bishop O’Connell said at the start of the Assembly’s opening Mass of the Holy Spirit that he celebrated June 4.

O'Connell, C.M., said the coming together for the Ordination of two men to the priesthood was a “holy purpose directly related to and consequential for the Eucharist.”
Before a congregation of loved ones and well-wishers, Bishop O'Connell ordained Father Wynne Kerridge and Father Brian Meinders to the priesthood during a June 1 Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton. Read more HERE.THREE PARISHES IN THE DIOCESE OF TRENTON were stops along the Seton Route, one of the four routes of the National Eucharistic Procession. Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., celebrated Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton; St. Mary of the Pines, Manahawkin, and St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Bordentown, May 28-30. The procession will continue across the country to the National Eucharist Congress beginning on July 17 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The workshop, sponsored by the diocesan Department of Catechesis, runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will feature presenter Sister of St. Joseph Sandra De Masi, who currently serves as pastoral associate for liturgy and catechesis in St. Rose of Lima Parish, Short Hills.
