The Vision of the Diocese of Trenton Catholic Charismatic Renewal is for all generations to Return to the Upper Room and awaken to  the transforming power and gifts of the Holy Spirit for the work of the New Evangelization.

The vision will be achieved through:

• Prayer:  The DOTCCR will provide opportunities for the faithful to experience the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, through which a deep desire for personal and communal prayer is awakened.
• Study:  The DOTCCR will seek to inform, educate and empower the faithful through formation for spiritual growth and transformation.
• Service/Evangelization:  The DOTCCR will invite all generations to experience the Baptism in the Holy Spirit through evangelistic outreaches including the annual Diocesean Charismatic Rally, Life in the Spirit Seminars, Retreats, Prayer Meetings, XLT Evenings, Eucharistic Adoration and Healing Masses.
• Community:  The DOTCCR will help establish relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ within the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Cursillo

Cursillo (meaning "short course" in Spanish) is a worldwide movement in which members seek to Christianize their environments.

Functioning under the authority and leadership of the Bishop, the Cursillo movement’s purpose is primarily one of evangelization. Members seek to share the Good News of salvation with others in their family, parish, place of employment and community.

The Trenton Cursillo movement began in 1971-72 and the first Trenton English Cursillo weekend was held on Pentecost weekend in 1972. The lay director of the Trenton Cursillo has a two-year term and is appointed by the Bishop. He or she is the head of the Diocesan Cursillo Secretariat. In addition to the laity, a priest, a deacon and a religious Sister also serve on the Secretariat.

The Trenton Cursillo offers two sets of weekends each year. One set is in the spring and the other is held in the fall, with separate weekends for men and women. Cursillo is open to persons who are married or single, separated, divorced or widowed, as well as clergy and religious.

The weekends run from Thursday through Sunday and give those attending a short course in living a Catholic Christian community experience.

There is an ongoing follow-up program for those who have experienced a Cursillo weekend. The Ultreya is a bi-monthly gathering in which participants talk about their ongoing lives of discipleship. There are also friendship groups where 3-5 people get together on an even deeper level.

The Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, with active members in almost every country in the world, totaling more than 3 million.

The organization was created in Dublin, Ireland, in 1921. The Legion of Mary became active in the United States in 1931 and came to the Diocese of Trenton a short time later. Members do apostolic work to help those in need. Legionnaires meet weekly in parishes throughout the four counties. Works of the Legion of Mary include:

• door-to-door evangelization
• parishioner visitation
• prison ministry
• visitation of the sick or aged
• religious education
• visiting the newly baptized

Living Gospel to Life - Life to Gospel

The Secular Franciscan Order, or sfo, is an Order of Catholic men and women throughout the world who, attracted to the person and charism of Saint Francis, recognize that they are called by God to profess the Rule of the Secular Franciscan Order, and so to "follow Christ in the footsteps of Francis of Assisi" (Rule, Article 1), preaching the Gospel...using words when necessary.

How old is it? It is one of three Orders founded by St. Francis himself in the 13th century. (The "First Order" was the Friars Minor and the "Second" was the "Poor Ladies" or Poor Clare's.) At that time we were called the "Brothers and Sisters of Penance" and later "The Third Order of St. Francis". In 1978 our Rule of Life was updated both taking us back to our roots and bringing us into the 21st century following the documents of the Second Vatican Council. Currently there are almost one million Secular Franciscans worldwide, observing the same "Rule" and "General Constitutions".

"Secular Franciscans, together with all people of good will, are called to build a more fraternal and evangelical world so that the Kingdom of God might be brought about more effectively". We pray alone and together (preferably at Mass and the "Liturgy of the Hours" or other "office"). How do I become a Secular Franciscan? Because this is a vocation to an Order and not just a matter of joining a club or society, time must be spent in discernment and study with members of a local Fraternity. The discernment process takes approximately 36 months before one becomes professed in the Order.

MARIAN SERVANTS of the Holy Family® (MSHF) is a is a Trenton diocese community chapter of the Marian Servants of Divine Providence®, a Public Association of the Christian Lay Faithful founded in Clearwater, FL. All that we do in our association we do publicly in the name of the Church. Our members are men and women who are active members of the Church and accept the challenge to work for the building up of God’s Kingdom.

Our mission is to bring Catholic Christians to a deeper understanding of their vocation and mission in Christ, in the Church and in the world. We foster devotion to Christ’s Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist as the source of healing for body, mind and spirit. In our daily life we trust in the loving providence of Almighty God and we take as our model, Mary, the Mother of Christ. We make reparation for sins through prayer, fasting and works of charity. We minister to others through the Ignatian Exercises prayer form.
