Vision and Mission Statements for Technology Teaching and Learning
Vision
Inspired by the teaching of the Catholic Church, the schools of the Diocese of Trenton commit to forming digital citizens for God’s world. It is our vision to form technologically literate students capable of working independently and collaboratively, thinking critically and creatively, competent to meet future innovations.

Mission
The elementary and secondary schools of the Diocese of Trenton will provide a Catholic learning environment that will prepare our students to be knowledgeable, ethical, productive digital citizens in a global society.

Diocesan Expectations for Technology Development in the 21st Century- Prepare our Catholic school students for a changing technological world in a global landscape
- Implement and prioritize these ten (10) standards into the teaching and learning process of all academic disciplines
- Create within each school in the Diocese of Trenton, a team that is composed of professional expertise in technology development and education
- Examine current infrastructure and anticipate future hardware/software technological trends to meet the present and future needs of the student
- Adhere and audit the delineated concepts of the school’s three year technology plan and update as needed
- Construct a school professional learning team that studies, researches, and analyzes technology integration in all academic disciplines
- Align academic curriculum in a rigorous manner with 21st century technology development
- Evaluate and assess, annually, the use of technology by administrators, teachers and students in an effort to keep up with an ever changing digital world: includes Department of Catholic Schools acceptable use and social media policies
- Redesign instructional strategies as new technology emerges that impacts teaching and learning processes
- Adopt a policy that requires constantly advancing technology skills and implementation by all faculty members and staff
- Provide necessary professional development for all school staff in furthering their knowledge of changing technology
