Plans for the Dec. 5 Guadalupe Procession and Mass in Trenton have been changed because of an increasing number of COVID-19 cases. The event was to mark the closing of the fifth annual celebration of Las Antorchas Guadalupanas – Torches of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which this year has as its theme, “A Season of Remembrance.” Among the changes are:
United in faith in Jesus Christ the Lord, we bring the Guadalupe Torches in a Season of Remembrance, together on Saturday, December 5th. Many of the faithful from all corners of the Diocese will celebrate the culmination of all the traveling torches coming together and the joy of knowing that we have prayed for the dearly departed in this Holy Souls month of November, as our Mother Church instructs us.
In the completion of the vow to pray for the Holy Souls in this Guadalupe Season of Remembrance, we entreat the Holy Souls, who are so dear to God, and who are secure of never losing Him, to pray for us who are danger of losing God forever in this valley of tears.
This Season of Remembrance is also very much a Season of Hope. We live joyfully in the hope of eternal lIfe and we die in that very hope that leads us home. Something to celebrate, indeed!
For the souls in purgatory there is great joy as well as pain as they know for certain
they are bound for heaven! St. Catherine of Genoa's
