Oct Mass Count (Week 2)

The October Count is an annual counting of the number of persons attending all regular Saturday evening Vigil and Sunday Masses at each church and mission/chapel throughout our diocese. A count is taken for two appointed weekends (typically in the month of October) and averaged to obtain the “average attendance at Sunday Mass” for the parish. These average attendance counts are collected and added together to obtain a weekly Sunday Mass attendance for the whole diocese. This number is compared to previous years to track attendance trends over time.
