The Parish Profile Report is submitted annually by each parish to the Diocese of Trenton through an online portal. It serves as the Status Animarum or the “State of Souls” report to the Bishop of the Diocese from each pastor that is required by Canon Law. In the Diocese of Trenton, the Parish Profile is one of the principal ways a Pastor informs the Bishop about the pastoral life and temporal circumstances of the parish. In addition, the Chancery staff compiles the data from all parishes to report to the Vatican about the activity of the local Church, and to monitor trends in the diocese to inform decision-making.
