We are motivated by the Gospel of Jesus Christ to cherish, preserve and uphold the sacredness and dignity of all human life, foster charity and justice, and embody Catholic social and moral teaching as we act to:
PROMOTE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT by responding to major emergencies, fighting disease and poverty, and nurturing peaceful and just societies; and,
SERVE CATHOLICS IN THE UNITED STATES as they live their faith in solidarity with their brothers and sisters around the world.
As part of the universal mission of the Catholic Church, we work with local, national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as other organizations, to assist people on the basis of need, not creed, race or nationality.
We put our faith into action to help the world’s poorest create lasting change.

The Diocese of Trenton CRS Advocacy Chapter is made up of committed faith-filled individuals from anywhere in the Diocese of Trenton (Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties). The Chapter supports the efforts of Catholic Relief Services, the international aide branch of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Through advocacy and relationship building with N.J. Congressional representatives and awareness programs, the DoT CRS Chapter seeks to defend the most vulnerable around the world who struggle each day from systemic hunger, the devastating effects climate change and war/violence.
Chapter members participate in monthly national calls with CRS staff to hear about efforts across the world. Members also gather monthly as a chapter to discuss local efforts and initiatives.
We are asked to try to build relationships with Congress people representing New Jersey, write letters to news outlets to build awareness of CRS' efforts abroad, look for ways to build financial support for CRS through programs and advocacy work so CRS, in turn, can put it where it is most needed to combat the world's most difficult situations.
