The Diocese of Trenton Social Media Policy and Resource Guide is to be provided to all catechists, volunteers, and all parish staff members of Religious Education programs. Please note attention to the section of this policy that addresses "Policy for Communicating with the Youth." The policy states that all people communicating virtually must have a Criminal Background Check and attend a Vitus class. All catechists and volunteers are still asked to be in compliance with the Safe Environment Policy of the Diocese of Trenton Office of Youth and Child Protection. |

The Diocese of Trenton has adopted two programs for the Safe Environment for our K - 8 children and youth, both programs exceed the requirements of article 13 of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2002 to foster safe environments for children and young people. One of the these two programs will be taught in all of the Religious Education Programs and Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Trenton.
All textbooks used must be in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. A complete list of texts in conformity with the Catechism of the Church can be found on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website, for a complete list click here.
