Upcoming vote on Non-public Security Aid

As the days wind down for the Budget enactment, we are called to take action – as supporters of Catholic education – to help regarding this extremely important issue.

Currently, the Assembly version has 16 sponsors and co-sponsors, including the Speaker. The Senate version has five sponsors and co-sponsors. The primary task with regard to these two bills will be to reconcile the per-pupil amounts. It is our understanding (not carved in stone) that there will be an amendment to both bills which will reconcile the per-pupil amount at $75.00 per pupil. Students, staff and faculty should be as safe in our schools as they would be in public schools.

The members of this committee that represent districts within the Diocese of Trenton are Senator Linda Greenstein and Senator Jennifer Beck.

If they hear from the electorate they pay attention to the concern.
