For the first time in 25 years, the official World Youth Day Cross and Marian Icon will make a multi-city tour of the United States. To witness this historic journey, the
Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries is encouraging all young adults over the age of 18 to gather as a diocesan community in Washington the weekend of Aug. 25 for a day of pilgrimage, prayer and fellowship with other young adults from across the nation.
The group will meet at the Lincoln Memorial to begin the day’s events and end with Mass in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.. Lunch for the day will be provided for $10 upon registration, or participants are able to bring their own.
*This event is free, but you must register online. Transportation to and from Washington D.C. will be the responsibility of those in attendance. Attendees are highly encouraged to carpool to and from Washington, D.C., or plan a weekend trip in addition to this event.*

Sept. 29 the
Department of Pastoral Care will host the state-wide event, “Breaking the Chains of Addiction: The Role of Catholic Parishes in Supporting Recovery” in St. Robert Bellarmine, Co-Cathedral, Freehold.
This event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include presenter Father John Stabeno, coordinator of Recovery Ministries in the Diocese of Camden, and keynote speaker, Cardinal Joseph Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark.
Registration fee is $25 and includes all handouts necessary for the symposium, lunch and a free copy of “Unchained: Our Family’s Addiction Mess is our Message” by Nancy McCann Vericker. To register online, please visit

The Diocesan
Department of Evangelization and Family Life is hosting a pilgrimage with Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico from Dec. 2 through Dec. 6.
Registration and deposit for this trip is due Aug. 20, with final payment due Oct. 1.
