President of U.S. Catholic Bishops’ Statement on Terrorist Attacks at Multiple Churches and Hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday

WASHINGTON—A statement has been issued by Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops regarding simultaneous explosions in Sri Lanka targeting the country’s minority Christian community as well as luxury hotels around Colombo on Easter Sunday morning. At least 200 people were killed and more than 400 injured in the terrorist attacks.
