Parish Catechetical Leader – part time/full time

July 5, 2023Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Maple Shade, is searching for a vibrant faith-filled person, who has a love for families and the little ones, as we take the next step in Family Catechesis. This person should have a heart for servant leadership and doing little things with great love. Sacramental theology and record keeping, as well as data management are required. Good presentation, communication and organizational skills necessary. Familiarity with different communication platforms is preferred. This important role can be accomplished in about 20 hours/week, but it could grow to FT as we grow. Regular nights and weekends are integral to the role.
MUST HAVES:- Knowledge of our Catholic faith and love for sharing and teaching as a life-long learner
- Strong organizational ability, solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all pastoral matters
- Capacity to recruit, train and accompany catechists and other volunteers who share in the ministries under your leadership
- Safe Environment Training including VIRTUS certification and criminal background check required for working with youth.
NICE-TO-HAVES:- Experience in family catechesis, RCIA, and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
- Knowledge of Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and Eucharist
- Familiarity with Flocknote & ParishSoft Family Suite (we will train)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead a portion of our parish's faith formation programs (PREP, RCIA, & Kingdom Kids) including meetings, retreats, and workshops in collaboration with the pastor and Director of Faith Formation
- Equip, empower and train volunteers; maintain communication and build relationships with parish families
- Manage records (registration, payment, sacramental records, etc.)
- Regular evenings and weekends as we seek to grow these evangelical programs
