Maintenance Coordinator Church of Saint David the King West Windsor, NJ 08550
Part Time or Full-time Possibilities Pay commensurate with work experience $19.00 - $25.00 an hour
With the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Coordinator provides routine and seasonal maintenance for parish properties. This position requires both team and individual work. This position will report to the Facilities Director.Responsibilities include:
Preventive and daily maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs of the facilities and grounds, including but not limited to: painting, light plumbing, light electrical, sidewalk snow removal, light janitorial cleaning as needed, debris removal, arranging chairs and tables for various ministry needs, and other tasks as needed
Must be able to follow oral and written directions.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
Respond to emergency situations (e.g. broken/clogged pipes/drains, faucets, fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
Performs basic repair, cleaning and maintenance on indoor facilities.
Outdoor grounds: shovel snow and/or salt sidewalks and steps.
Assists in keeping the facility clean throughout the day.
Empty and remove trash.
Place orders for needed supplies (such as cleaning or maintenance supplies necessary).
Maintain all equipment in a safe condition and good working order.
Assist with a variety of installations and repairs.
Repair/patch chipped paint and or other patching that is required.
Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, events which may include: setting up chairs/tables, podiums, projectors, microphones, etc..
Responding to evening and weekend emergencies on a rotating basis.
Working cooperatively with and providing guidance for occasional volunteers.
Assisting to create and implement procedure and systems to enhance the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department.
Power washing of parishpatios each spring; and
Check roof for any moisture breaches.
Qualifications Knowledge and experience in property maintenance, construction, and/or repair. Ability to multi-task and creatively problem solve. Ability to work independently. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. Able to work some weekend/overtime shifts. Capable of completing the VIRTUS, protecting God’s Children workshop, and background check for child safety. Have a valid driver’s license.
