St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church (SML) in Medford, NJ, is seeking a full-time marketing/administrative assistant. The qualified candidate must have exceptional writing and proofreading skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher). Knowledge of database systems is a plus. The qualified candidate should possess a four-year degree, preferably in a business or marketing field; however relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. For marketing responsibilities, this position reports to the pastor. For administrative responsibilities, this position reports to the lead administrative assistant.
Marketing responsibilities include managing parish social media accounts (Twitter and Facebook) and website, preparing weekly bulletins, creating daily and weekly newsletters, livestreaming daily and occasional funeral Masses, creating weekly PowerPoints to play in church prior to Masses, maintaining bulletin boards with up-to-date photos and pertinent information, designing SML branded items for special occasions (e.g., Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Carnival, etc.), designing and arranging mailing for Christmas and Easter liturgy schedules.
Administrative responsibilities include scheduling meetings and events, ordering supplies and materials, fielding incoming phone calls, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail, maintaining a daily record of donations, and other administrative tasks as necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to balance and prioritize various work projects are essential. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
