You can read more on their pilgrimage by
reading this report from TrentonMonitor.com. On Saturday, Dec. 1, the third annual
Diocesan Guadalupe Pilgrimage took place in downtown Trenton. Nearly 1,000 pilgrims gathered in Immaculate Conception Church and began walking at 9 a.m. For nearly 3 hours, faithful of all ages processed nearly four miles through the streets of Trenton, walking, dancing, singing, reciting the Rosary and offering to pray for local residents. At about 11:30 a.m., pilgrims were joined by hundreds more for the culmination of the day’s event, a bi-lingual Mass celebrated by
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton.
At the start of Mass,
Bishop O’Connell explained how he would be joining the faithful on the upcoming diocesan pilgrimage to Tepeyac, Mexico, and the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
“I will take all of your prayers, all of your faces, all of your lives with me and pray for your intentions and your needs,” he said.
The bilingual Mass was concelebrated by Msgr. Joseph Roldan, Cathedral rector and Father Carlos Florez, parochial vicar in St. Barnabas Parish, Bayville, who served as the homilist.
Also, watch for the Dec. 13 print edition issue of The Monitor, which will include a special, bi-lingual insert with photos and stories from the Diocese’s celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe, both from Mexico and here in Trenton.
