Bishop Emeritus Frank J. Rodimer, who led the Diocese of Paterson from 1978 until his retirement in 2004, died Dec. 6 at the age of 91.
The announcement was made by Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli, current Bishop of Paterson, who expressed “great sadness” and called upon his flock to remember Bishop Rodimer and all who were close to him in their prayers.
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., shared this message upon learning about Bishop Rodimer’s death: "On behalf of the clergy, religious and faithful of the Diocese of Trenton, I express both our sadness at the passing of Bishop Emeritus Frank Rodimer, sixth bishop and native son of the Diocese of Paterson, and our joyful gratitude for his many years of priestly ministry in the Church. May God continue to bless the Diocese of Paterson and may Bishop Rodimer rest in the Lord's peace."
Born in Rockaway, Bishop Rodimer was ordained a priest in 1951. More about the late bishop is available in his

Funeral services for Bishop Rodimer are as follows: The
Reception of the Body will be 2 p.m. Dec. 14 in St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Paterson. Viewing will continue until 7 p.m., followed immediately by Vespers. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Dec. 15, in St. John the Baptist Cathedral.
