Core Team Update #6

Dear Core Team Members:

“Building Our Future Together,” a print resource that provided background on Faith in Our Future andFaith to Move Mountains, was distributed to all Catholics in the Diocese of Trenton last week. If you have not yet looked at it, you will find that it clearly explains the purposes and process of Faith in OurFuture, including the important work parish core teams are now beginning.

1. All of the resource material for Faith in Our Future has been posted on the diocesan web siteat http://www.dioceseoftrenton.org/faithinourfuture/. This includes the Planning Guide in English and Spanish, the print resource “Building Our Future Together,” and a six-minute video of Bishop O’Connell’s message to the diocese.

2. If you need a print copy in either Spanish or English of the Planning Guide, contact Sherrie Sporek at [email protected]. Please download the sample bulletin inserts and prayers of the faithful when appropriate.

3. Please make a note of the next steps for Core Teams:

• Meet as a Core Team in December or early January and review sections I & II in the Planning Guide to clarify your role and responsibility as a Core Team.
• Plan meetings for every other week through early March.
• Decide on a communications strategy to keep your fellow parishioners involved.
• Begin to evaluate the 4 areas of parish life in ways that involve the whole parish (e.g. surveys, task forces, work groups, town hall meetings, etc.)
• Contact your Reid Group consultant with your questions and concerns.

4. If you have substantial changes or corrections to your parish data verification form, please submit these in writing to Terry Ginther ([email protected] , 609-403-7143) by the end of January 2016.

5. If you have not completed your preferred cohort form, please return it to Sherrie Sporek ASAP.
6. The 1st draft of cohort parishes will be distributed for your review in January 2016.
7. The training sessions for the Cohort Teams are scheduled for March 15-16, The sites for these sessions will be determined in the next month or so.
