                              STARTING SALARY RANGE: $43,000-$48,880

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Saint David The King Parish, in West Windsor, NJ, is seeking a Coordinator of Faith Formation (CFF). The Coordinator of Faith Formation (CFF) plays a vital role in fostering the spiritual development of parishioners of all ages. This role integrates responsibilities for religious education, sacramental preparation, youth and young adult ministry, and community engagement. The position requires a dedicated individual committed to the Catholic faith, with strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Religious Education Program (Grades 1–8):                                                                 (12 hours per week)

• Direct and oversee the parish religious education program for grades 1–8, which encompasses a summer intensive week, online option and family catechesis events.
• Plan and implement a curriculum aligned with diocesan guidelines and Catholic teachings.
• Recruit, train, and support catechists to ensure effective delivery of lessons.
• Organize parent meetings and events to engage families in their children’s faith formation.

Sacramental Preparation:                                                                                                         (2 hours per week)

• Coordinate preparation programs for Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation.
• Develop retreats, service projects, and liturgical celebrations to enrich sacramental candidates’ spiritual growth.
• Maintain accurate records for all sacraments and ensure timely communication with families.

Youth Ministry:                                                                                                                            (7 hours per week)

• Plan and implement LifeTeen-style youth ministry programs for grades 9–12, including LifeNights, social events, and service opportunities.
• Foster leadership among teens through the Teen Leadership Team and other initiatives.
• Organize participation in diocesan and national youth events (e.g., Diocesan Youth Conference, Steubenville East). 

Young Adult Ministry:                                                                                                               (5 hours per week)

• Develop Bible studies, retreats, and social gatherings for young adults, fostering community and spiritual growth.
• Promote diocesan young adult events and create parish-based opportunities for engagement and discipleship (minimum of 3x per academic year).

OCIA Program Coordination:                                                                                                 (8 hours per week)                            

• Coordinate and oversee the parish OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) program, guiding individuals on their journey to becoming full members of the Catholic Church.
• Recruit and train OCIA team members, ensuring participants receive strong spiritual formation and support.

Administrative Responsibilities:                                                                                            (4 hours per week)             

• Supervise religious education secretaries and ensure effective office management.
• Manage budgets and resources for all programs under the role’s purview.
• Maintain active communication with parishioners through newsletters, emails, and social media.
• Maintain compliance with diocesan standards for Protecting God’s Children.
• Supervise and provide direction to the Religious Education secretary/ies.
• Ensure effective office management, communication, and support for religious education programs and events. 

Parish Safety Coordinator:                                                                                                      (1 hour per week)          

Collaboration with Parish Staff:                                                                                           (1 hour per week)          

• Work closely with the Pastor, parish staff, and volunteers to ensure alignment across ministries.
• Support parish-wide events and programs involving youth, young adults, and families.

Qualifications

• Active, practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic teachings and sacraments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field.
• Experience in religious education, youth ministry, or pastoral ministry, with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging youth, young adults, and families in their faith journeys.
