Bishop asks diocesan family to join in worldwide prayer for Pope Benedict

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., issued the following statement in regard to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI:

His Holiness Pope Francis has requested prayers for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI who, at age 95, is  “very sick” and in declining health due to “advanced age.”  I ask the clergy, religious and faithful of the Diocese of Trenton to join me in praying for Pope Benedict in these days.
