January 10, 2019The Diocese of Trenton is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to serve as the part-time Associate Director of Parish Counseling Services for 10-15 hours per week.
This individual will be responsible for serving the Diocese of Trenton in the administration and coordination of a counseling services program for parishioners referred by parishes from throughout the four counties of the Diocese.
The Associate Director of Parish Counseling Services will report to the Executive Director of Catholic Social Services; serve as the Diocesan representative for Parish Counseling Services to Catholic Charities, Parishes, and independent counselors who provide services through this program. In addition, this individual will be responsible for connecting parishioners with local independent counselors as services are needed. The Associate Director of Parish Counseling Services will monitor and/or maintain service and billing reports as well as authorizations for payments to Catholic Charities and independent counselors for counseling services provided that are covered under the Parish Counseling financial assistance program.
The successful candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and 2-4 years of human services, case management and/or counseling experience.
The preferred candidate must have a valid driver’s license and a willingness to conduct site visits when needed. This individual will also need to possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with others in ministry. Knowledge of Word and Excel is required. Multi-lingual, including Spanish, is desired.
