After an historic 2017 U.S. tour, relics of St. Pio of Pietrelcina –popularly known as Padre Pio – will resume a series of 2018 visits, making a Nov. 13 stop in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, located at 61 Georgia Road, Freehold.
A message from Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. On May 12, 1962, General Douglas MacArthur returned to West Point to receive an honor from that venerable institution and to address the corps of cadets there.
Church history buffs, Catholic students and members of the faithful alike are invited to view an exhibit featuring the history of the Diocese of Trenton starting this Saturday, Nov. 10. “The Diocese of Trenton: This is Our Story,” will be on display for the general public Nov. 10 through Dec. 7 in The Aquinas Institute, 24 Charlton St, Princeton.
This is “National Vocation Awareness Week,” a time that the Catholic Church in our country sets aside to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life as a religious sister or brother through prayer and education. We are asked to encourage young people in particular to consider dedicating their lives to follow the Lord Jesus in a special way. But, in order to “consider,” to “dedicate,” to “follow” the Lord, you must first listen for his call.
Affirming the special vocation of marriage and family Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., marked the opening of National Vocation Awareness Week Nov. 4 with a message in which he shared, “It comes in the ordinary moments of your daily life when you recognize something deep inside urging you to do more with your life to demonstrate God’s incredible love for his people.”
