Power and Powerlessness: Being Rooted in Clarity
Knowing when to act, when to wait, when to surrender, when to engage, and when to let go requires a clear understanding of the use of personal power. For the minister called to act in the name of Jesus, that understanding keeps conflict creative, rather than destructive, and allows space for God's activity to flourish. School of Community
The Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony parish "School of Community" is a moment of Adult Faith Formation that is part of the Church movement Communion and Liberation (CL). It is called "school" because it teaches us more about our faith as a continuous encounter with Jesus, who asks us "What are you looking for?" and proposes to us to "Come and see," as He did to the Apostles. Through the reading of texts and discussions, we seek a deeper awareness of Jesus' presence in our lives. It is through our encounter with Jesus Christ that allows us to live the truly more human "life to the full" that Jesus promises to all His followers. It is in living in communion with Christ Jesus that we find true freedom, meaning and fulfillment in our lives. From this encounter, renewed every day, a deep love for Christ is born that affects every aspect of our life. Dates/Times: Thursday evenings, 7:00 PM at Mary's Haven (the former convent on the Our Lady of Sorrows campus). For information please contact Fr. JC Garrett at 609-587-4372 or frjcgarrett@gmail.com, and/or check the website of Communion and Liberation: www.clonline.us.
"Evangelization is the mission to proclaim Jesus as the Savior of all.
It means bringing the Gospel to every person and to every situation.
Evangelization is directed to those who have never heard the Gospel,
to those who have heard it and have stopped listening,
and to all who are searching for truth.
Evangelization is not a program or an initiative.
Evangelization is a way of being church."
[Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli, Diocese of Paterson,
“Evangelization: Grace and Vocation” Pastoral Letter, May 11, 2008]
