Department of Youth, Marriage
and Family Life
The Department of Youth Marriage and Family Life strives to promote a Catholic understanding of life through faith formation at every stage of human living.
Welcome to the family!
In your family, you first learned about belonging. Within the family unit, a person experiences joy and sorrow, love and forgiveness. From these essential experiences, we realize that all of us belong to the great human family, the family that God created out of love.
Whether we reside in a bustling city or in a quiet suburban neighborhood, whether we're affluent or barely getting by, we're called to be brother and sister to one another. Our duty to love one another begins in the family, but it does not end there. As family, we share in the responsibility to nurture and support all of God's sons and daughters, including the poor, the ailing and the vulnerable.
The Department of Youth, Marriage and Family Life is here to support you and your family, recognizing that your family is "holy, not because it is perfect, but because God's grace is at work in it, helping it to set out anew every day on the way to love." (from the U.S Bishops' Pastoral Statement: Follow the Way of Love)
