The Holy Innocents Society is a Diocesan Society consisting of a federation of the four county chapters of the Diocese. The Society is dedicated to the spiritual welfare of Special Children of all ages who are autistic, blind, mentally retarded, emotionally or physically handicapped, neurologically impaired, or learning disabled.

Holy Innocents' Centers throughout the Diocese provide persons who are mentally challenged and are not able to function in a regular Religious Education Program, with religious education geared to their individual learning ability. Dedicated catechists prepare students for the reception of the Sacraments, and, through programs of continuing religious education, prepare them to take an active role in the Church community.

By developing faith in God's providence, an awareness of the love of Jesus Christ for his children and a trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the catechists try to foster within each student a positive self-concept, with a sense of morality and Christian community.
