Bishop John C. Reiss Scholarship Fund

Scholarships are available for academic study in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field at a Catholic College or University. Scholarships are open to persons who are currently engaged in Religious Education Ministry in the Diocese of Trenton.

• Administrators of Parish religious education programs for elementary age parishioners.
• Elementary or secondary Catholic school principals.
• Administrators of Adult Faith Formation programs.
• Administrators of Faith Formation programs for High School age parishioners.
• Catechists who have served at least one year in a parish religious education program.
• Teachers who have served at least one year in a Catholic School.

Please Note: ILEM candidates are not eligible for the Bishop Reiss Scholarship since they already receive diocesan assistance toward their tuition.

Please call the Office of Catechesis for an application. Completed applications are received every year by June deadline.

Grants are available for innovative and effective efforts that foster the catechetical mission at the parish level. They may be used for:

Parent Program		Inter-parish Program
Staff Development		Family Catechesis
Leadership Development		Adult Religious Education

Grants will not be awarded for salaries, capital improvements, previously purchased items, or tuition.
