Office of Catechesis
"The diocesan catechetical office is the means which the Bishop as head of the community and teacher of doctrine utilizes to direct and moderate all catechetical activities of the diocese." (GDC #265)
Mission Statement
The Office of Catechesis serves the catechetical mission within the Diocese of Trenton. We provide professional and formational programs to support catechetical ministry in the parishes and schools of the diocese. We provide leadership that advocates for the vision of life-long formation so that the people of God may witness to their Faith and serve as disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Office of Catechesis is the resource for pastors, parish religious education directors and coordinators, school principals, high school religion chairpersons, school religion coordinators and adult faith formation coordinators as they carry on the catechetical mission of the Church.
We accomplish this mission through efforts in four areas:
- Leadership Development
Forming and Supporting Catechetical Leaders
- Religious Education Programs
