One of our primary goals within the Department of Youth, Marriage, and Family Life is to support Youth Ministry Leaders in developing happy, holy, healthy young people. To achieve this goal, we must make sure that the emotional and physical safety of all youth is of utmost importance. There are guidelines, policies, and procedures in place to help ensure that.
The Diocese of Trenton has fully implemented a criminal history background check policy, screening all priests, deacons and seminarians regardless of their assignments and level of interaction with children, and all religious (sisters and brothers), employees, volunteers and third party vendors who have direct contact with minors. This process is done in conjunction with the NJ State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. More than 21,000 criminal background checks have been processed through the Diocese of Trenton.
The following “Consent and Release Form” must be filled out by all individuals attending Diocesan programs for youth. Those under 18 years of age must have a parent’s signature on the form.
El seguiente “Formato de Consentimiento y Publicacion” deberia ser llenado por todas personas que asisten a los programas diocesanos para la juventud. Si algunos participantes son menores de 18 años, deberian incluir la firma de los padres.
This form is to be used when a priest from outside of the Diocese of Trenton intends to perform priestly duties within the Diocese.
